Cliff Sims Biography
Cliff Sims is an entrepreneur, author, and communications strategist with experience in government, media, and business. Sims is the founder of C.D. Sims & Co. providing strategic advising to companies and individuals.
Sims founded Yellowhammer News, a conservative news organization in Alabama, where his investigative reporting influenced state politics and contributed to governmental changes. He later served as a communications advisor for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and was appointed Special Assistant to the President and Director of White House Message Strategy. In this role, Sims contributed to shaping presidential messaging and supported the administration’s legislative efforts, including the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
During his tenure in the White House, Sims worked closely with President Trump and developed communication strategies under significant scrutiny and political pressure. He authored the memoir "Team of Vipers," a New York Times bestseller that provides an insider’s perspective on the Trump administration. Following the book’s publication, Sims returned to government service as Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Strategy and Communications, where he advised on national security messaging and advocated for strategic initiatives. He received the Director’s Exceptional Achievement Award for his work in this role.
In the private sector, Sims is chairman at Telegraph Creative, a Birmingham-based marketing and branding firm, leading business development projects. He is also recognized as a public speaker, with appearances on national media outlets and experience overseeing speechwriting for events such as the Republican National Convention.
