Linnda Durré, Ph.D. Biography
Linnda Durré, Ph.D., is a professional in psychology, sports performance, and corporate consulting. Durré earned a Bachelor of Arts in human development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena and a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego, now known as Alliant International University.
A psychotherapist, sports performance coach and consultant, corporate trainer, international speaker, writer, published author, magazine and newspaper columnist, television and radio talk show host, and media guest, Durré brings a broad range of expertise to her work. She has served as an expert witness, case consultant, and jury selection consultant, and has been qualified in 12 states as an expert witness in personal injury law, employment law, family law, and criminal law.
As a sports performance consultant and coach, Durré has worked with athletes at the elementary, middle school, high school, college, and professional levels, including those in the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, soccer, golf, swimming, tennis, lacrosse, and field hockey. She has interviewed for staff positions with the New York Giants, Tennessee Titans, Detroit Tigers, and the Brooklyn Nets, and has worked as a sports consultant with the Orlando Magic. Durré’s approach focuses on consulting with athletes to support their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, serving both individual competitors and organizations.
Durré has worked with Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, professional associations, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations, providing customer service training, time efficiency and stress management seminars, conflict resolution, strategic planning, communication techniques, assertiveness training, diversity awareness, and empowerment workshops. She is the author of "Great Relationships Manual: A Guide to Share Yourself with Your Partner" and "Surviving the Toxic Workplace: Protect Yourself Against the Co-Workers, Bosses and Work Environments That Poison Your Day." Published by McGraw-Hill, the latter is recognized as a resource for navigating challenging professional environments. Durré’s media presence includes interviews on Oprah, 60 Minutes, Canada AM, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Home and Family Show, Disney Channel, and news programs on CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, CNN, NPR, CW, and PBS. She hosted and co-produced two live call-in television shows and was selected to host "Ask the Family Therapist" on America's Health Network, associated with Mayo Clinic. She also served as the weekly guest psychotherapist on CW’s nationally syndicated morning show, "The Daily Buzz," writing the Q&A segment for herself and the hosts.
Durré’s creative work includes writing "The Viewing" as her entry to Edward Albee's Master Class in Playwrighting, adapting it into a short film, and directing, producing, and casting the project. The film won two Crystal Reel Awards from the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association, including "Best Short Script." It was an official selection at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and the Delray Beach Film Festival, and a finalist at the Best in Florida/Made in Florida Film Festival.

Most professional speakers arrive at an event, speak for one hour, mingle with the audience and shake a few hands. Then quickly leave for their next speaking gig. This drive-by keynote approach is not Dr. Linnda Durré’s style. She takes time to understand her client’s needs. As President of the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium’s Tulsa Chapter, we scheduled Linnda to speak six months in advance for our January 2013 luncheon. The topic of her talk was “Dealing with Toxic People at Work.” Linnda arrived in Tulsa one day before the event to acclimate herself to the venue. She also insisted I review her PowerPoint slides to make sure she effectively delivered what we expected. Nobody does that! She also stated several times her goal was to make our organization look good for booking her as a speaker. Dr. Durré delivered on that promise! From the moment she took the stage, Linnda connected with the audience, told interesting stories and expertly covered the topic, plus handled a few questions at the end of her talk. The energy in the audience was very high and tangible. Even better, our members returned to work with information they could use immediately. Her speech also qualified for one unit of continuing education credit for all participants as a result of her 50- minute talk, clever PowerPoint slides and a professionally crafted handout. Prior to her arrival, Linnda worked closely with our Public Relations Chair. As a media savvy professional herself, Linnda agreed to pre-tape a segment at WESH TV, the NBC Affiliate in Orlando, in cooperation with KJRH TV, Tulsa’s NBC affiliate. This piece ran one-week prior to the event, an important pre-event strategy to attract guests. On the morning of the event, Linnda appeared on Good Day Tulsa at KTUL TV, Tulsa’s ABC affiliate. She was also willing to be interviewed twice by the Tulsa World. Linnda’s expert knowledge of the subject matter, precise delivery and warm personality create a winning combination on the public relations front. Linnda’s spirit of cooperation and pursuit of excellence attracted close to 200 luncheon guests, with many corporate tables booked by Google, ONEOK, Williams Companies, Bama, WPX Energy, plus many other large organizations. My final comment to Linnda was, “If this had been the Super Bowl, you scored the game winning touchdown!” We high-fived each other as she returned to the Tulsa Airport. Mission accomplished!
