Chef AJ Biography
Chef AJ is a culinary expert, author, and advocate for whole-food, plant-based nutrition who has spent decades influencing the way people approach food and health. As a chef, culinary instructor, and speaker, Chef AJ uses her series "Healthy Living with Chef AJ" to promote a plant-based diet. She has maintained a plant-exclusive diet for more than 45 years, and her personal commitment to this lifestyle forms the foundation of her teachings. Her expertise is informed by her own journey, extensive experience in the industry, and a certificate in plant-based nutrition from eCornell University.
Chef AJ's book, "Unprocessed: How to Achieve Vibrant Health and Your Ideal Weight," details her transformation from a junk-food vegan diagnosed with pre-cancerous polyps to an advocate for whole foods. This account of overcoming food addiction and reclaiming health has resonated with readers and established her as a voice in the wellness community. She has served as executive pastry chef at Santé La Brea Restaurant in Los Angeles and created the Ultimate Weight Loss Program, where she became known for sugar-free, oil-free, salt-free, and gluten-free desserts made with whole fruit.
Chef AJ is the author of several books, including "The Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss," "Unprocessed: How to Achieve Vibrant Health and Your Ideal Weight," and "Sweet Indulgence," which highlight her approach to plant-based eating. Her publications provide practical advice and recipes that support weight loss, food addiction recovery, and improved health. She has been inducted into the Vegetarian Hall of Fame.
In addition to her writing, Chef AJ has built a media presence as both a chef and comedienne, appearing on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and "The Late Show with David Letterman." She is featured in the UnchainedTV series "New Day New Chef" and has her own channel on the streaming network. Based in Los Angeles, Chef AJ teaches monthly seminars that combine cooking instruction, nutritional science, and entertainment.
Chef AJ is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based health practices. She educates and engages audiences through her YouTube channel and social media platforms, regularly hosting live cooking demonstrations, interviews with health experts, and Q&A sessions. Through speaking engagements, books, and online content, Chef AJ continues to provide information and guidance in the plant-based nutrition and wellness community.
