Brad Jakeman Biography
Brad Jakeman is a marketing leader and brand strategist with experience across financial services, fashion, entertainment, and consumer packaged goods. Jakeman began his client-side career as managing director of global advertising at Citigroup in New York, where he led the team that developed the Emmy Award-winning "Live Richly" brand platform and the Citi Identity Theft Solutions service. He later served as executive vice president of marketing at Macy's Inc., where he repositioned the Macy's brand and developed the retailer's first national brand campaign featuring prominent figures from entertainment, culture, and fashion.
Before joining PepsiCo, Jakeman was executive vice president, chief creative officer, and chief marketing officer at Activision Blizzard Inc., a leading video game and interactive entertainment company. There, he oversaw global marketing functions, including media, advertising, design, consumer experience, CRM, consumer insights, and digital strategy. Jakeman led marketing for major video game franchises such as "Guitar Hero" and "Call of Duty," and played a key role in launching the "Skylanders" franchise.
As president of PepsiCo's Global Beverage Group for seven years, Jakeman directed global category strategy, brand building, design, advertising, marketing, innovation, and branded content for the company's beverage portfolio, which generated more than $20 billion in revenue. During his tenure, Pepsi introduced its first global brand positioning under the "Live for Now" tagline. Jakeman drove significant growth in PepsiCo's water portfolio, including the launch of "LIFEWTR," which reached $250 million in retail sales in its first year, and led Aquafina to become the top packaged water brand globally. He also appointed PepsiCo's first chief design officer and established a design and innovation center in Manhattan, which received more than 50 design awards in its first 18 months.
Jakeman has been recognized by Advertising Age as one of America's "Top 50 Marketers," by The Australian as one of the "top 20 people shaping global media," as "Advertising Person of the Year" by the Ad Club of New York, and by AdWeek as one of the "Most Indispensable Executives in Tech, Media and Marketing."
Following his time at PepsiCo, Jakeman has served as a senior advisor to the marketing, sales, and pricing practice at Boston Consulting Group. He is co-founder and managing partner of Rethink Food, which invests in businesses digitally transforming the food system with a focus on alternative proteins, meal delivery, and AI-enabled carbon measurement. Jakeman is also co-founder of The Circulate Initiative, a nonprofit organization addressing the ocean plastic crisis.
