Janice Dean is a weather presenter, television host, and New York Times bestselling author recognized for her career in broadcast meteorology. Dean has worked at radio and television stations in Canada and the United States, including CHEZ-FM and WCBS-TV, before joining Fox News. Prior to her role at the network, Dean served as news editor and entertainment reporter for Imus in the Morning, which aired on WFAN-AM New York and was simulcast nationally on MSNBC. At Fox News Channel, Dean served as senior meteorologist, where she became known to viewers as Janice Dean the Weather Machine, a nickname given by Fox News anchor Shepard Smith during Studio B.
Dean has covered major weather events across the United States, including Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Sandy, Irene, Igor, Earl, and Katrina. She has contributed to Fox News Channel’s coverage of hurricanes and severe weather, providing meteorological analysis and updates. Dean is a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the AMS Seal of Approval.
