Dana Perino Biography
Dana Perino is an American political commentator and author, best known for her service as the 26th White House Press Secretary under President George W. Bush from September 14, 2007, to January 20, 2009. This made her the second female White House Press Secretary, following Dee Dee Myers. Perino's experience in the political sphere extended beyond the White House as she later became a political commentator for Fox News, regularly appearing as a co-host on the network's talk show, "The Five."
Perino's career is not limited to political commentary, as she has also made her mark in the world of publishing. She held an executive position at Random House and later joined the Crown Publishing Group as the editorial director. Apart from her work in publishing, Perino has a strong presence in education, having taught a class in political communications part-time at George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management.
Perino co-anchors "America's Newsroom" with Bill Hemmer on Fox News. She has moderated the second GOP presidential primary debate on Fox Business and appeared on "Jeopardy!" during its "Power Players" week in 2012. In May 2023, she was awarded an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters from CSU Pueblo, her alma mater. She also hosts two podcasts, "Perino & Stirewalt: I'll Tell You What" and "Perino on Politics."
