Alicia Silverstone Biography
Alicia Silverstone is an actress, author, and animal rights activist whose career spans film, television, theater, and publishing. Silverstone made her film debut in the thriller "The Crush," earning the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance. She gained widespread recognition through appearances in Aerosmith music videos for the songs "Cryin'," "Amazing," and "Crazy," which contributed to her prominence in pop culture and entertainment.
Silverstone starred as Cher Horowitz in the teen comedy film "Clueless," a role that led to a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Pictures and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. She expanded her filmography with the role of Batgirl in the superhero film "Batman & Robin." Silverstone also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for her work in the NBC series "Miss Match."
Her stage credits include performances at the Geffen Playhouse in David Mamet's "Boston Marriage," as well as Broadway roles in Donald Margulies's "Time Stands Still" and Douglas Carter Beane's "The Performers." Throughout her career, Silverstone has earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and a National Board of Review award for her work in film, television, and theater. She wrote the New York Times bestsellers "The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet" and "The Kind Mama."
