Tony Hoffman, once a top-ranked BMX racer, faced a downward spiral in high school as he struggled with anxiety, depression, and opioid addiction. Despite early success and sponsorships with brands like Fox Racing and Spy Sunglasses, his life shifted towards addiction, crime, homelessness, and ultimately prison. In 2008, after a two-year sentence, Hoffman set four goals: to race BMX professionally, reach the Olympics, launch the Freewheel Project nonprofit, and become a speaker on mental health and substance abuse. Since then, he has raced BMX professionally, coached Olympian Brooke Crain, and built the Freewheel Project to impact youth through action sports. Today, Hoffman is a respected author, owns pH Wellness treatment center, and is one of the world’s leading speakers on addiction and mental health.
