Eric LeMarque Biography
Eric LeMarque is one of the most famous survivors in history who shares his experience, inspiring others not to squander one precious moment of this life we’ve all been given. He is an international best-selling author, an inspirational speaker, an IT Director, a former Olympian and professional ice hockey player.
LeMarque’s story recounts his survival stranded at an altitude of 11,500’ in the frozen wilderness of the High Sierra Nevada Mountain Range for eight-days after a snowboarding adventure gone horribly wrong. The National Guard Rescuers’ titled him, “The Miracle-Man” for managing to stay alive in sub-freezing temperatures with only a lightweight jacket and a thin wool hat.
During his struggle on the mountain without food and escaping wild animals, he also overcame a methamphetamine addiction and found inner strength to fight for his life. LeMarque was Blessed with a second chance, but something was ripped away from him forever. The elite athlete lost both of his legs to frostbite. Despite the painful episode, one year to the date of his amputations LeMarque snowboarded Mammoth Mountain with prosthetics.
This incredible world-record survival story of perseverance and faith is shared in the books “Crystal Clear” and “6-Below” which inspired a movie of the same name. Released in the United States in October 2017 and later in other countries, “6-Below, ‘Miracle on The Mountain’” stars Josh Hartnett and Academy Award-Winner, Mira Sorvino. LeMarque has appeared on hundreds of National News Network programs and has been quoted in thousands of publications Worldwide.
