Team Casper is an American men’s curling team led by skip Daniel Casper, one of the sport’s rising young talents in the United States. Formed as Casper transitioned from a successful junior career into the men’s ranks, the team has quickly built a reputation for disciplined play and competitive success on the international curling circuit. The lineup has included players such as Luc Violette, Ben Richardson, Aiden Oldenburg and Rich Ruohonen, combining youthful energy with strong technical skill and strategic shot-making.
The team first gained attention with strong performances on the North American curling tour, including a victory at the Gord Carroll Curling Classic and several deep playoff runs in elite competitions. They also represented the United States at the Winter World University Games, where Casper led the rink to a solid round-robin performance against top international collegiate teams.
Team Casper’s breakthrough on the national stage came when they competed in the United States Olympic Curling Trials. There, the young rink upset the veteran team skipped by John Shuster—the 2018 Olympic gold medalist—in a dramatic best-of-three final. The victory secured Team Casper the opportunity to represent the United States at the Olympic qualification stage, and eventually, the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.
