Elana Meyers Taylor Biography
A legendary pilot in the sport of bobsled, Elana Meyers Taylor is a five-time Olympian and six-time Olympic medalist, with podium finishes at every Games from 2010 through 2026.
Originally from Atlanta and an elite softball player, a failed attempt to make the Olympic roster on the diamond led her to try bobsled, a decision that changed her life and the sport forever.
A true pioneer, Meyers Taylor fought for the opportunity simply to compete, becoming the first woman to compete against men in bobsled and later the first woman to win a medal in a men’s World Cup event. Pushing that historic sled was Nic Taylor, now her husband.
Meyers Taylor and her husband are parents to two young boys, Nico and Noah, both of whom are deaf, and Nico has Down syndrome. Their journey as a family, traveling the world in pursuit of Olympic dreams, is a powerful part of Meyers Taylor’s message about inclusion, resilience, and redefining what’s possible for working mothers.
She is the former President of the Women’s Sports Foundation, holds an MBA in Finance and a Master’s in Sports Management, and in 2022 received the Foundation’s highest honor, the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award, recognizing not only her athletic excellence but her advocacy for women, racial equity, and disability inclusion.
