Sherrie Johnson Biography
Sherrie Johnson was born in Alton, Missouri. In 2006 she started her solo career in Contemporary Christian Music, and recorded her first eleven song album with Producer Gary Smith at Nottingham Records. She founded MCBS Ministries, LLC (My Child Be Strong) that same year. She studied with Grammy Award-winning vocal coaches Kim Wood-Sandusky and Renee Grant Williams in Nashville, Tennessee, and worked with Grammy-Award winning producer Lynn Nichols. She recorded her second and third albums at Nashville’s legendary Blackbird Studios and Cash Cabin Studio, home of Johnny Cash’s recordings as well as The Guest House and Vibe 56 studio.
God’s constant presence in Johnson's life became even more evident when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. As a singer, this news was devastating. As a mother, it was terrifying. Yet, once again, Johnson found the strength to persevere, relying on God to carry her through the darkest times. Today, she proudly declares herself 13 years cancer-free and able to sing with full breath support.
Johnson has encouraged and inspired thousands of people struggling to navigate through life’s difficult seasons. Through inspiring music and stories, she shares how strength and hope helped her overcome difficult personal struggles.
