Dorsey is the founder of The Plug, a data-driven tech news platform that began as an early-morning newsletter and evolved into a full-fledged news outlet. The Plug became the first Black data-driven tech news publication to syndicate on the Bloomberg Terminal and was later acquired by ImpactAlpha. Dorsey built the platform from the ground up, leveraging a MailChimp theme, a $10 domain, and partnerships with advertisers such as Capital One and Goldman Sachs. She holds a master's degree in data journalism from Columbia University and has served as an entrepreneur-in-residence fellow at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and Garage entrepreneurship program.
As an author, Dorsey wrote "Upper Hand: The Future of Work for the Rest of Us," published by Wiley.
