Pierre Yared Biography
Pierre Yared is a macroeconomist and university leader on the faculty at Columbia Business School (CBS) since 2007. He oversees CBS Executive Education, which consists of in-person and online non-degree programs sold to individual executives and businesses. He also oversees faculty affairs and centers at CBS.
Yared's academic research is on the political economy of central banking and government finances, and it has been published in leading academic journals and featured in podcasts and in the popular press. He regularly speaks in CBS Executive Education programs, where he is the faculty director for the Global Banking Program: Fintech, Digital, Analytics, the Macroeconomics for Executives program, and the subscription-based quarterly Global Economic Update. He is the co-author of the first fully digital interactive textbook in Intermediate Macroeconomics.
Yared is a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and an associate editor of the American Economic Review. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York. Yared received his AB in Economics from Harvard University and his PhD in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
