Paula Laurel Jackson, PhD is a global educator, social impact advisor, and storyteller for systems change. As a global citizen, she has lives on three continents and is deeply rooted in four generations of educators. Her work is grounded in the belief that education is not just a system, but a relationship: It is a relationship to self, to others, and the world around us.
After her initial career as a concert pianist, she went in education and completed her degrees at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and the University of London. For over 16 years, Jackson has worked across Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, and North America, helping mission-based organizations, governments, non-profits, and EdTech companies to design effective and innovative education solutions. As a university lecturer, she teaches courses on global education. She is also a children's author, and believes that stories shape what we believe is possible.
