Dr. Elaina George is a board-certified otolaryngologist and founder of Peachtree Ear, Nose and Throat Center in Atlanta, Georgia. George graduated from Princeton University with a degree in biology, earned a master's degree in medical microbiology at Long Island University, and received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She completed her residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, with additional training in general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, pediatric ENT at NY-Presbyterian Hospital, and head and neck oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. George is experienced in endoscopic nasal sinus surgery, alternative medicine, sublingual immunotherapy, environmental health, and balloon sinuplasty.
As a solo practitioner and small business owner, George offers insight into health care delivery, the costs of healthcare, and consumer-driven solutions. President Trump’s executive order on price transparency is revolutionary and is the first important step to returning medicine to the patient and their doctor. With this order, the patient will be empowered to be come a healthcare consumer. The middlemen will be removed from the doctor’s office along with the inflated prices they encourage. – Patient’s will be free to use their health savings accounts (HSA) and Health reimbursement accounts (HRAs) for the services that they want including direct primary care practices (DPC) and health sharing ministries. – Surprise medical billing will be stopped so patient’s won’t be hit with unexpected bills after the service has been rendered. – Hospitals, doctors and any healthcare facility will have to list their prices online so you will know what it will cost before you have the service allowing the patient to shop for the lowest prices. Not only will the price of healthcare drop, but access will improve. Healthcare consolidation and monopolies will no longer be attractive, and doctors will be encouraged to become free standing independent physicians who will have the financial and health interests of their patients at the forefront. This is a big win for doctors and patients.
