David Rothkopf Biography
David Rothkopf is an American foreign policy, national security, and political affairs analyst and commentator whose career spans government service, media leadership, academia, and authorship. During the Clinton administration, Rothkopf served as deputy under secretary of commerce for international trade policy and development, as well as acting U.S. under secretary of commerce for international trade. Before and after his government tenure, he was managing director of Kissinger Associates, the international advisory firm founded and chaired by former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
Rothkopf is the author of 10 books, including "Running the World: The Inside Story of the National Security Council and the Architects of American Power," "National Insecurity: American Leadership in an Age of Fear," and "Traitor: A History of American Betrayal from Benedict Arnold to Donald Trump." Other works include "Power, Inc.: The Epic Rivalry Between Big Business and Government—and the Reckoning That Lies Ahead," "Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They Are Making," and "The Great Questions of Tomorrow." His writing explores topics such as U.S. foreign policy, global power dynamics, and the intersection of business and government.
In addition to his books, Rothkopf has written more than 1,000 articles on international affairs for publications including the New York Times, the Washington Post, Financial Times, and Foreign Affairs. He serves as The Daily Beast's chief global affairs columnist and is CEO and editor-in-chief of The DSR Network. Rothkopf regularly hosts "Deep State Radio," available on YouTube and podcast platforms. Rothkopf has taught international affairs at Columbia University, Georgetown University, and Johns Hopkins University.
