Chuck Leavell is a multi-faceted individual known for his significant contributions to music, environmental advocacy, and literature. Leavell's remarkable career spans over 40 years, during which he has worked with iconic musicians such as Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, George Harrison, and John Mayer. A hallmark of his storied career began when he joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1972, contributing to the landmark album "Brothers and Sisters" which features classics like "Ramblin' Man" and "Jessica." Following the Allman Brothers Band, he founded the rock/jazz/blues fusion group Sea Level, which released five critically acclaimed albums in the late 1970s.
Leavell’s musical journey continued as a vital member of The Rolling Stones since 1982, with his work described by Keith Richards as essential for maintaining the band's continuity. His influence is also noted in his solo projects, including the holiday album "What's In That Bag?" released in 1999, and the acclaimed "Forever Blue: Solo Piano," which showcases a blend of original compositions and classic songs. In 2007, he embarked on the "Green Leaves and Blue Notes" tour in Europe, further solidifying his reputation as a distinguished pianist.
