Amy Robach Biography
Amy Robach is a television journalist with a career spanning more than two decades in broadcast news. Robach began her national television career at NBC News, where she served as a national correspondent, co-hosted the Saturday edition of "Today," and anchored on MSNBC. During her tenure at NBC, Robach covered presidential elections and interviewed political leaders, including President Barack Obama. She later joined ABC News, where she expanded her profile in television journalism.
At ABC, Robach co-anchored "20/20" and served as a breaking news anchor and fill-in anchor for "Good Morning America." She contributed to "Good Morning America" before hosting "Pandemic: What You Need to Know," which later became "GMA3: What You Need to Know." Robach reported on major national and international news events, including the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy and presidential election campaigns. Her work earned her Emmy nominations, including recognition for Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story in a News Magazine and a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Morning Program.
Robach's personal health journey became public when she revealed her breast cancer diagnosis on live television. After undergoing an on-air mammogram to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month, tests revealed malignant tumors, leading to a bilateral mastectomy and six months of chemotherapy. She chronicled this experience in the New York Times bestselling memoir "Better," which is based on a journal she kept during her diagnosis and treatment. Throughout her treatment, Robach continued to work on-air and received a promotion.
Following her time at ABC News, Robach transitioned to podcasting. She co-hosts "Amy & T.J." with fellow television news anchor T.J. Holmes, where they discuss current events, pop culture, and personal experiences. The podcast, distributed through iHeartPodcasts, has attracted an audience for its candid and unfiltered conversations.
