Ynon Kreiz Biography
Ynon Kreiz is an Israeli-American media and entertainment executive whose career encompasses significant roles in global media. Kreiz began as co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Fox Kids Europe NV after meeting media executive Haim Saban. He served as chairman and CEO of Fox Kids Europe, which became a leading pay-TV channel in Europe and the Middle East during his tenure. Kreiz later joined Balderton Capital (formerly Benchmark Capital Europe) as a general partner, focusing on early-stage startup investments in the media and technology sectors.
Kreiz has led major companies in the entertainment industry, including serving as chairman and CEO of Endemol Group, a prominent independent television production company and owner of programming franchises such as "Big Brother" and "Deal or No Deal." Endemol produced more than 10,000 hours of programming annually under his leadership. Kreiz also served as chairman and CEO of Maker Studios, a multi-channel network on YouTube acquired by Disney. These leadership roles positioned Kreiz at the forefront of both traditional and digital media, with expertise in content production, media distribution, and digital transformation.
At Mattel, Kreiz guided the company through a transformation from a toy manufacturer to a business focused on intellectual property and entertainment. Under his leadership, Mattel achieved revenue growth, increased profitability, and expanded its intellectual property portfolio through content partnerships, gaming, licensing, and direct-to-consumer channels. Mattel ranked first globally in its leading toy categories: Dolls, Vehicles, and Infant, Toddler and Preschool. The "Barbie" film, produced during his tenure, became a cultural phenomenon, achieving one of the highest global box office results and earning eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, as well as the Oscar for Best Original Song. Kreiz received the Cannes Lions Entertainment Person of the Year award and the Israel Film Festival's Industry Leadership Award for his work at Mattel.
Kreiz was appointed co-CEO of Paramount Skydance Corporation following its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. In this role, Kreiz oversees operational aspects of the combined company, while David Ellison focuses on long-term strategy and creative direction. The merger brings together two major Hollywood studios, with a combined history of more than 200 years and a streaming platform with over 200 million global subscribers. Kreiz's career is defined by building and scaling media brands across continents and platforms, with expertise in entertainment, technology, and franchise development.
