Star Jones is an attorney, journalist, television personality, and women’s health advocate whose career spans law, media, and public service. Born in North Carolina and raised in New York, Jones earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and began her professional life as a prosecutor in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. She later served as a senior assistant district attorney and legal correspondent for Court TV, where her sharp legal analysis and confident on-air presence helped launch her into national prominence.
Jones became a household name as one of the original co-hosts of ABC’s daytime talk show "The View," joining the program at its inception in 1997. During her nine seasons on the show, she was known for her strong opinions, legal insight, and spirited debates on politics and pop culture. Her time on "The View" cemented her status as a leading voice in daytime television and opened doors to numerous hosting and commentary roles across major networks.
