Nicole Richie Biography
Nicole Richie is an American television personality, actress, fashion designer, entrepreneur, and author who gained national attention as a co-star of the Fox reality series "The Simple Life." Richie appeared alongside Paris Hilton, with the show following the pair as they left their affluent lifestyles to experience life with average Americans. The series premiere attracted a large audience and significantly increased Fox's Adults 18-49 rating.
After "The Simple Life," Richie expanded her television career, serving as a judge on the reality competition series "Fashion Star" and starring in the unscripted comedy series "Candidly Nicole," which she also created and executive produced. Richie later played a news anchor in the NBC comedy "Great News," executive produced by Tina Fey. She has also guest starred in Netflix's "Running Point" and reunited with Hilton for "Paris & Nicole: The Encore" on Peacock.
As an author, Richie has published two novels, "The Truth About Diamonds" and "Priceless." "The Truth About Diamonds" is a semi-autobiographical work that highlights her storytelling abilities. In the fashion industry, Richie is the founder and creative director of House of Harlow 1960, a brand offering ready-to-wear, jewelry, eyewear, footwear, and handbags, available internationally. She partnered with Revolve on an exclusive House of Harlow 1960 x Revolve collection, which became one of Revolve's top-selling brands. Richie has also introduced "The Nova Collection," the brand's first fine jewelry line.
Richie has received several industry honors, including the Style Influencer of the Year Award, the Footwear News Annual Achievement Award, Influencer of the Year at the Accessories Council Excellence Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year at the Glamour Awards, and Icon of the Year at Revolve's Award Ceremony. She created, executive produced, and starred in "Nikki Fre$h," a scripted reality series, and released a debut album as Nikki Fre$h, focusing on environmental themes.
In addition to her work in entertainment and fashion, Richie and her husband, Joel Madden, established The Richie Madden Children's Foundation to support disadvantaged young mothers and children. She serves as a board member of Baby2Baby and the Environmental Media Association and is involved with organizations such as the Red Cross, UNICEF, the Elton John AIDS Foundation, and the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
