Matt Wilpers Biography
Matt Wilpers is an instructor on the Peloton platform known for his technical approach to fitness and high-performance training. A former Division I distance runner with more than a decade of coaching experience, Wilpers incorporates athletic principles into his teaching style. Before transitioning to the fitness industry, he worked in finance as a CPA for KPMG and Goldman Sachs in New York City. While coaching endurance athletes and teaching group fitness classes, he developed an interest in physiology and performance optimization, which led him to a role as a Peloton instructor after an audition.
Wilpers teaches cycling, running, and rowing classes and has participated in numerous running, cycling, and triathlon events. He is recognized as a running coach and has worked with athletes of all ability levels. Wilpers coached Lena Dunham for the TV show "Girls" while at Mile High Run Club. He emphasizes a technical, hands-on coaching approach and fosters a positive training environment to support athlete development.
