Kellie Maloney Biography
Kellie Maloney, formerly known as Frank Maloney, was a prominent boxing promoter who managed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis and went head to head with legendary promoter Don King. Maloney brought Lennox Lewis to victory against Mike Tyson in 2002, a fight that was the highest-grossing event in pay-per-view history at the time, generating $106.9 million from 1.95 million buys in the US.
Maloney was a significant figure in a male-dominated industry and announced in 2014 that she was living as a woman, transitioning to promote greater awareness and understanding of transgender issues. This announcement marked the beginning of her advocacy for transgender rights. In 2015, she was named 'transgender champion' at the Women of the Year awards by Glamour Magazine.
