Jeffrey Hollender Biography
Jeffrey Hollender is an American entrepreneur, author, and environmental activist recognized as a co-founder of Seventh Generation Inc. Hollender is known for his expertise in corporate responsibility, sustainability, and social equity. His early business ventures included the Skills Exchange in Toronto and Network for Learning in New York City. After selling Network for Learning to Warner Publishing, a division of Warner Communications, he was appointed president of Warner Audio Publishing. He later acquired Renew America, a mail-order catalog of green products, which evolved into Seventh Generation.
Hollender served as co-founder and CEO of Seventh Generation, developing it into a natural product brand with a focus on sustainable business practices. Seventh Generation's product line is distributed through major retailers including Target, Whole Foods, Kroger, Safeway, and Amazon. The company was acquired by Unilever, and Hollender remains on the Board of Directors. His leadership at Seventh Generation contributed to the growth of the sustainable business movement.
Hollender is the author of several books on corporate responsibility and sustainability, including "Built for a Better World: How Seventh Generation Pioneered a Movement That Changed the Purpose of Business" and "The Responsibility Revolution: How the Next Generation of Businesses Will Win." His work, including "How to Make the World a Better Place, a Beginner's Guide," has influenced consumers to make environmentally responsible choices.
