Dennis Quaid, an accomplished actor with a diverse portfolio, has been recognized for his performances across a multitude of genres and mediums. He has received nominations for his roles in films such as "Far from Heaven" and "The Special Relationship," and was named by The Guardian as one of the best actors never to have received an Academy Award nomination. Quaid's versatility is evident in his filmography, which includes notable films such as "Breaking Away," "The Right Stuff," "The Big Easy," and "Innerspace," among others. His more recent work includes the biopic "Reagan," where he portrayed President Ronald Reagan; the horror film "The Substance"; the Paramount+ series "Happy Face"; "Sovereign," an action- packed drama; and "Littlemouth," a mysterious thriller with a cerebral tone. He will also star in "War Machine," a sci-fi action adventure where a group of special ops recruits confronts a deadly alien threat.
In addition to his film work, Quaid has also made significant contributions to television. His roles include Deputy U.S. Marshal Sherrill Lynn in the Paramount+ Western series "Lawmen: Bass Reeves," Sheriff Ralph Lamb in the CBS TV drama series "Vegas," and Wade Blackwood in the Amazon Prime legal series "Goliath." His voice acting skills were utilized in the Walt Disney animated film "Strange World." Moreover, Quaid's talents extend beyond acting. He is a musician, having performed songs in some of his films, and holds a pilot's license. He was also named the top golfer among the "Hollywood set" by Golf Digest in 2005.
Quaid's advocacy work and entrepreneurial ventures further add to his multifaceted career. He is a patient-safety advocate, producing documentaries on preventable medical errors that aired on the Discovery Channel. He also co-founded the production company Bonniedale Films with his wife, Laura Savoie. In 2020, Quaid began a podcast titled The Pet Show with Dennis Quaid.
