Bobby Jensen Biography
Bobby Jensen opened his first garden center in Clifton, New Jersey, in 1976 at the start of the “green revolution.” He later opened a chain of garden centers and became the local expert speaking at garden clubs and on radio shows throughout the New York City area.
In 1990, Jensen left New Jersey to settle in the Twin Cities where he continued to serve as a voice for the green industry by learning, practicing and teaching the field of gardening including everything from new technologies to organics and sustainability.
As the horticultural expert/buyer for one of the Twin Cities largest garden centers, Jensen monitored trends and advancements in the industry. He went on to become the owner of a landscape design and installation company and then sales manager for a number of landscape maintenance companies. Each opportunity helped to further Bobby’s knowledge and passion for gardening.
In 1993, Jensen partnered with KARE 11 meteorologist Belinda Jensen (no relation) for their weekly gardening segment “Grow with KARE,” which has been running for over 25 years, 52 weeks a year.
