Alyssa Thompson, a professional soccer player, has made a significant impact on the field in a short span of time. Known for her pace and tenacity, Thompson plays as a forward for Angel City FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States women's national team. Her talent was recognized early on as she was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021 and was the first overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft by Angel City FC. Her debut in professional soccer was nothing short of spectacular, scoring five minutes into her first game.
Thompson's first season with Angel City was filled with achievements, ending with four goals and two assists in regular-season games. Her performance during March-April 2023 earned her the title of NWSL Rookie of the Month. Her talent also extends to the international stage, as she helped lead the under-20 national team to win gold at the 2022 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. Thompson made her senior national team debut at Wembley Stadium in October 2022 and was called up to the U.S. squad for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Off the field, Thompson has been involved in several endorsement deals with brands like Nike and Volkswagen.
