Steven Yeun Biography
Steven Yeun is a Korean-American actor who rose to fame as Glenn Rhee on the globally successful television series “The Walking Dead.” He expanded his career with critically acclaimed film roles in “Burning,” “Mayhem,” and “Minari.” For “Minari,” Yeun not only served as an executive producer but also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, becoming the first Asian American actor nominated in that category. His diverse filmography also includes “Okja,” “Sorry to Bother You,” “The Humans,” and “Nope,” as well as the 2021 stage adaptation of “The Humans.”
Yeun’s performances have earned widespread recognition, including multiple Best Supporting Actor awards for “Burning.” In 2023, he starred in and executive produced the Netflix series “Beef,” winning both the Golden Globe Award and the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, and earning a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination. He became the first person of Asian descent to win a Golden Globe in the Best Actor category.
