Lucy Liu, a multi-faceted American actress, producer, and artist, commenced her career in 1991. Her portrayal of Ling Woo in "Ally McBeal" from 1998 to 2002 garnered significant critical praise. Liu's filmography is extensive, with notable roles in "Charlie's Angels," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Kill Bill: Volume 1," "Kill Bill: Volume 2," and more recent projects such as "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" and "Presence." Her television work is equally notable, with roles as Dr. Joan Watson in CBS's "Elementary" from 2012 to 2019 and as Simone Grove in "Why Women Kill." She also lent her voice to characters in the "Kung Fu Panda" franchise and the "Tinker Bell" series.
Liu's work has been recognized with two Critics' Choice Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Primetime Emmy nominations. In 2019, Liu was the second Chinese American woman to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her performance in the psychological drama "Rosemead" at the 2025 Tribeca Festival further heightened her critical acclaim. Beyond acting, Liu has made significant strides as a director, with episodes of "Elementary" and "Luke Cage" among her credits.
