Sarah Kauss Biography
Sarah Kauss is Managing Partner at Avignon Partners, where she advises and invests in retail, health and wellness, and technology companies. A consumer products leader with two decades of experience repositioning companies for growth and successful exits, Kauss guides leadership teams through critical change with proven financial discipline, talent acquisition, and priority alignment. Her recent board and advisory work includes supporting high-growth transformations, such as Thorne, which P&G acquired for $3.8 billion.
As the Founder and former CEO of S’well, she bootstrapped the iconic reusable-products brand from $30,000 to a $100M+ global category leader before executing a successful exit in 2022. Kauss created a new category and sustainable movement that displaced more than four billion single-use plastic bottles, with Architectural Digest naming S’well one of 25 designs that shaped the world.
Kauss began her career as a CPA with EY, working in auditing and tax consulting across tech, healthcare, and media. She then shifted to consulting and real estate development, leading international collaborations and partnerships before starting S'well.
Her leadership has been recognized with the Harvard Business School Entrepreneurship Award, Fortune’s "40 Under 40," and membership in the Aspen Institute’s Henry Crown Fellowship and Braddock Scholars programs. She is a WSJ Board of Directors Council member and a frequent keynote speaker on purposeful leadership and dynamic brand building.
Kauss holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
