Nyjah Huston Biography
Nyjah Huston is an American professional skateboarder recognized for his impact on street skateboarding. Huston began skateboarding at age 5 and entered the professional circuit at 11, becoming the youngest participant in the X Games at that time. He quickly established himself in the skateboarding industry through his technical skill and consistency, earning a reputation for his performances in major competitions.
Huston has earned three ESPY Awards, 15 X Games gold medals, and holds more Street League Skateboarding championship titles than any other competitor. He has secured gold medals at the SLS Super Crown World Championship and has been honored by Transworld Skateboarding Magazine with awards including Best Video Part, New Era Readers' Choice, and Best Street. Huston also founded Disorder Skateboards, contributing to the evolution of skateboarding culture and business.
In Olympic skateboarding, Huston competed in the Tokyo Games, finishing seventh after contending with a wrist injury. He later returned to competition following a torn ACL, participating in events such as Tampa Pro. At the Paris Olympic Games, Huston earned a bronze medal in the men's street event, competing alongside fellow American Jagger Eaton, who took silver.
Outside of competition, Huston co-founded the charity organization Let It Flow with his mother, Kelle, to provide clean, accessible water to communities in need, supporting projects in countries including Ethiopia, Kenya, and Chad. He is also involved with organizations such as Miracles for Kids and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Huston's career has been marked by resilience, overcoming multiple injuries including a fractured jaw, cheekbone, lacerated kidney, and previously fractured skull and eye socket. Huston continues to be a prominent figure in modern street skateboarding, known for his competitive achievements and contributions to the sport's global growth.
