Nick Guthe Biography
Nick Guthe is a writer, director, and producer based in Los Angeles whose career encompasses feature films, documentary storytelling, and brand content creation. A graduate of Princeton University, Guthe has worked as a producer and director across film, commercial direction, and production. He has contributed to feature film and television writing for studios including WB, Disney, Universal, New Line, MGM, Sony, and Fox. His feature directorial debut, "Mini's First Time," premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and starred Alec Baldwin, Carrie-Anne Moss, Luke Wilson, and Nikki Reed. Guthe is also known for "The Speed of Dark" and "A Three Dog Life."
Guthe directed and produced the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary "The Billion Dollar Game," which airs during March Madness and on ESPN Classic. He has directed talent such as Alec Baldwin, Jeff Goldblum, and Carrie-Anne Moss, as well as professional athletes including NBA World Champion Anthony Davis and NHL Stanley Cup winner Steven Stamkos. As a senior producer and creative director at WPP's content marketing agency SJR, Guthe wrote, directed, and produced content and commercials for brands including Ford, GE, Reebok, Lincoln, Nike, Mazda, and Bank of America. His PSA for World Pancreatic Cancer Day received the Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America. His feature film "Grow" was produced by Double Nickel Entertainment and SKY for global release.
Guthe became a prominent voice for long COVID awareness in the United States after his wife, Heidi Ferrer, died by suicide following complications from the illness. In an essay, Guthe called for greater recognition of post-COVID physical and mental complications within the medical community. He serves as an advisor to Survivor Corps, a grassroots organization supporting long COVID sufferers. In addition to long COVID advocacy, Guthe supports suicide prevention and early-onset scoliosis treatment.
Guthe is the senior producer and executive creative director at Red Krypton, a marketing agency, consulting firm, and venture capital group. At Red Krypton, he contributes to product placement campaigns in Hollywood films and television, with work featured on shows such as "Ozark," "Succession," "Yellowstone," "Gossip Girl," and "The Boys."
