Matt Gutman has spent his career as a journalist deeply embedded in the heart of events around the world. In 2025, Gutman joined CBS News as Chief Correspondent after over 20 years at ABC News. When he served as the Chief National Correspondent for ABC News, his portfolio included coverage from over 50 countries, with particular emphasis on major conflicts in the Middle East.
