Lily Collins Biography
Lily Collins is a British-American actress, model, and author known for her work across film, television, and literature. Collins trained at the Youth Academy for Dramatic Arts and attended the University of Southern California, majoring in broadcast journalism. As a teenager, she began modeling and contributed articles to magazines including Elle Girl and Teen Vogue, establishing an early foundation in storytelling and media.
Collins made her film debut in the sports drama "The Blind Side" and later starred as Snow White in the fantasy adventure "Mirror, Mirror." She played the lead in "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones," based on Cassandra Clare's book series, and received critical recognition for her portrayal of a woman with anorexia in Marti Noxon's "To the Bone." Her performance as Marta Mabrey in "Rules Don't Apply" earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Additional credits include the BBC adaptation of "Les Misérables," where she portrayed Fantine, and "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile," in which she played the longtime girlfriend of serial killer Ted Bundy.
Collins is widely recognized for her lead role in Netflix's romantic-comedy series "Emily in Paris." She also serves as a producer on the series and received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy Series. The show has expanded its narrative across multiple seasons, with Collins' character exploring new settings and personal growth.
In addition to her acting career, Collins is the author of the memoir "Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me," where she discusses her experiences with eating disorders, toxic relationships, and emotional abuse. She has been an advocate for eating disorder awareness and youth empowerment, serving as an ambassador for Bystander Revolution and participating in national WE Day events. Collins' openness about personal challenges and her contributions to film, television, and literature have established her as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry and mental health advocacy.
