Leyna Bloom Biography
Leyna Bloom, widely recognized for her contributions to diversity in fashion, has been making waves in the industry since her feature film acting debut in "Port Authority" at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. Bloom's prominence extends beyond the silver screen, as she was a key figure in the FX drama series "Pose" during its final season in 2021. In addition to her acting roles, Bloom has been a luminary in the queer ballroom scene as a member of the House of Miyake-Mugler.
Bloom's modeling career has also been groundbreaking. She contributed to the H&M x Moschino by Jeremy Scott Fall/Winter international campaign in 2018, which was photographed by the renowned Steven Meisel. Bloom's striking presence led her to be named as one of the "6 Women Who Are Shaping the Future of Fashion" by Glamour in the same year. Her influence in the fashion industry continued as she starred in the Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya fashion show at the Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019, which notably featured an all-black cast.
Her trailblazing achievements do not stop there. In 2017, Bloom made history as the first openly transgender woman of color to grace the pages of Vogue India. She continued to break barriers in 2021 when she became the first openly transgender Black and Asian-American model to feature in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. This accomplishment cemented her position in the industry when she became the first transgender cover star for the same issue.
