Kevin Lacz Biography
Kevin Lacz is a former U.S. Navy SEAL, New York Times bestselling author, actor, certified physician assistant, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose career spans military service, healthcare, and media. Motivated by the September 11 attacks, Lacz left college to enlist in the U.S. Navy, completing Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL training before joining SEAL Team THREE Task Unit Bruiser, a unit recognized for its role in the Iraq War. Serving as a platoon sniper, breacher, and combat medic, Lacz completed two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, with his deployment to Ramadi chronicled in several books, including Chris Kyle's "American Sniper."
Lacz's military service was recognized with a Bronze Star with combat "V," two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, among other honors. After eight years of service, he was honorably discharged and pursued higher education, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a degree in political science and later earning a Master of Medical Science-Physician Assistant degree from Wake Forest University. Lacz became a certified and licensed physician assistant, co-founding Lifestyle and Performance Medicine and building a practice focused on integrative healthcare and wellness.
Lacz's relationship with Chris Kyle led to his involvement in the production of Clint Eastwood's Oscar-nominated film "American Sniper," where he served as a SEAL technical advisor and portrayed himself alongside Bradley Cooper. His deployment has been referenced in books such as Jocko Willink and Leif Babin's "Extreme Ownership" and Dick Couch's "The Sheriff of Ramadi." Lacz authored "The Last Punisher," a New York Times bestselling memoir that provides an account of his time with SEAL Team THREE during the Battle of Ramadi, a unit that included Chris Kyle, Mike Monsoor, and Marc Lee.
In addition to his military and literary work, Lacz is a philanthropist and community leader. He co-founded Hunting for Healing, a charitable organization supporting veterans, and serves as its spokesperson.
