Joshua Doss Biography
Joshua Doss is an American political pollster, strategist, and research leader whose work has helped shape modern public opinion analysis and campaign strategy across national, state, and local political landscapes. Based in Chicago, Doss serves as senior pollster and political strategist at HIT Strategies, where he leads critical opinion research efforts, with a particular emphasis on Black voter behavior and economic narrative studies that inform both advocacy organizations and electoral campaigns. In this role, he oversees qualitative and quantitative research, message development, data‑driven strategy formulation, and emerging trend analysis that guide political clients in responding to shifting public sentiment and evolving demographic landscapes. His expertise has made him a frequent commentator in national media and at industry forums.
Doss’s professional journey includes grassroots organizing in his hometown of Chicago and research roles with major entities such as The White House, the Global Strategy Group, and national campaign initiatives, giving him a broad foundation across political communication, strategy, and voter engagement. His work has been featured in leading outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Politico, ABC, NBC, and Newsweek, reflecting his position as a respected voice in public opinion research and political analysis.
In 2025, Doss was recognized as one of The Root 100 — a list honoring influential Black leaders — for his efforts in shaping civic engagement and expanding political discourse among historically underrepresented communities. He also received a nomination for Outstanding Digital Content Creator – Political/Culture at the NAACP Image Awards, underscoring his influence in both digital media and public affairs.
Known for advancing inclusive and methodologically sound approaches to polling, Doss advocates for transparency, ethical research practices, and greater diversity in political research. His public speaking engagements and published analyses focus on the intersection of technology, voter behavior, digital engagement, and the challenges facing the polling industry today, including sampling bias and representation.
