Jaboukie Young-White Biography
Jaboukie Young-White, a comedian, actor, writer, and musician, made a name for himself through his diverse roles across television, film, and music. His television debut was made on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in 2017, and he later served as a correspondent on "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" from 2018 to 2021. He also co-wrote the Netflix mockumentary series "American Vandal" in 2018 and had recurring roles on "Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens" and "Only Murders in the Building".
Besides his roles in live-action series, Young-White has lent his voice to several animated projects. He voiced main characters in "Strange World" and "Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken", and took the lead role of Truman in "Fairfax". His writing endeavors further extend to an upcoming animated feature inspired by the music of the late rapper Juice Wrld and a series being developed for HBO in collaboration with Issa Rae's production company, based on the book "The Gang's All Queer: The Lives of Gay Gang Members."
Young-White's talents also span to the music industry, where he released his debut single "BBC" in 2022, followed by an album "All who can't hear must feel" in 2023. He also directed music videos for his singles "bbc" and "not_me_tho". His accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. In 2017, he was listed on Rolling Stone's "25 Under 25" list, followed by Vulture's "20 Comedians You Should and Will Know" list in 2018. In 2024, he received the Comedy Connoisseur Award at Variety's Power of Comedy event.
