Sitcom star, stand-up comedian, world-champion poker player, successful market investor, Gabe Kaplan has done it all: Regaling audiences with humorous tales from a life that encompassed several different careers, Kaplan finds humor in both his successes — and failures — wanting to be a baseball player but never making it. Instead Kaplan became a highly successful stand-up comedian, appearing on every major talk and variety show. He went on to achieve world-wide fame on the highly successful TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter. But, at the height of his television career, Kaplan threw a curve ball at the entertainment industry. He turned his back on television to focus his efforts on stock and financial investment, specializing in the risky world of private placements — which provided him (and his audiences) with hysterical stories about the wild financial speculation of the 80's and 90's. In addition, Kaplan's fascination with professional poker and poker players prompted him to become one himself, participating in and winning several major championships. Kaplan now travels, invests, plays poker and entertains audiences — though he hasn't given up on his dream of being a professional baseball player
