Dr. Tara Narula Biography
Dr. Tara Narula holds a distinguished position as a board-certified cardiologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. She teaches as an associate professor of cardiovascular medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine, Hofstra/Northwell. Her roles extend to being the associate director of the Women’s Heart Program at Lenox Hill Hospital and director of communications for the Katz Institute of Women’s Health. Dr. Narula's professional interests lie in preventive cardiology, women's health, and the management of coronary artery and valvular disease.
Adding to her professional commitments, Dr. Narula serves as the chief medical correspondent for ABC News. Her contributions to live news programming have been recognized with a 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Live News Program. She also actively contributes to CBS News as a medical contributor. Over the years, she has made appearances on various news segments, including CNN, CBS, FOX, and NBC, and has contributed to "Oprah" magazine and HealthiNation.
Dr. Narula's achievements have been acknowledged with the 2019 WomenHeart Nanette Wenger Award for Media and the Super Doctors Award for NYC, which she has received continuously from 2014 to 2025. She authored "The Healing Power of Resilience: A New Prescription for Health and Well-Being", a book that focuses on the integration of mental and physical health to enhance resilience.
