Dr. Naana Boakye Biography
Dr. Naana Boakye is a board-certified dermatologist, lifestyle medicine physician, author, skincare formulator, and CEO. She earned her MD from Temple University and an MPH in epidemiology from George Washington University. She completed her dermatology residency at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn—serving as Chief Resident—and holds a BA from Wellesley College.
She is the founder of Bergen Dermatology in Hackensack, New Jersey, where her patient-first model focuses on acne, hyperpigmentation, aging, eczema, and melanated skin. She practices lifestyle dermatology, integrating diet, stress management, mindfulness, and exercise into customized skincare regimens. She has cared for over 18,000 patients over more than 15 years.
Dr. Boakye has consulted on and co-formulated inclusive skincare lines for A-list talents including Naomi Osaka’s KINLÒ, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s Proudly, and John Legend’s Loved01.
She is also co-founder of Karité Shea Butter, inspired by her Ghanaian heritage and ethically sourced ingredients.
