Dr. Helen Turnbull is an organizational consultant and the founder and CEO of Human Facets, an international consulting firm specializing in global inclusion and diversity. Turnbull is an expert in global inclusion, focusing her career on helping organizations address barriers to productivity related to diversity and workplace culture. In addition to her Ph.D., Turnbull holds two master's degrees in organizational behavior and mental health counseling, as well as an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology. Her doctoral research examined stereotype threat and internalized oppression across cultures, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of inclusive environments.
With a career spanning more than 25 years, Turnbull has developed tools that are widely used in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in major organizations. She is the author of three online psychometric assessment tools on unconscious bias and inclusion: "Cognizant," the "ISM Profile," and "The Gender Gap Assessment." Her "Inclusion Complexity Model" outlines three immutable forces and four permeable forces that influence inclusion, offering organizations a structured approach to fostering inclusive workplaces.
