Segura began performing stand-up shortly after graduating from college, balancing comedy with other daytime jobs before gaining recognition through open mics and clubs. Segura's mainstream breakthrough came with his first Netflix special, "Completely Normal," followed by "Mostly Stories," "Disgraceful," "Ball Hog," and "Sledgehammer." He has become a prominent figure in streaming stand-up comedy, with "Sledgehammer" debuting at No. 1 on the platform. Segura completed the "I'm Coming Everywhere World Tour," performing over 300 shows, and the "Come Together Tour," which sold out venues internationally and culminated in his sixth Netflix comedy special, "Teacher."
