Theo Von Biography
Theo Von is an American stand-up comedian, podcaster, television personality, YouTuber, and actor. He is the host of the "This Past Weekend" podcast and was a co-host of "The King and the Sting" podcast with Brendan Schaub from 2018 to 2022. He started his first podcast, "The Comedy Sideshow," in April 2011, and also co-hosted the podcast "Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss" from 2015 to 2018. In September 2023, he accused Kast Media and its CEO Colin Thomson of non-payment.
Von began performing stand-up comedy as a young man in Louisiana. At age 23, after his tenure on MTV, including appearances on "Road Rules: Maximum Velocity Tour" and "Real World/Road Rules Challenge," he decided to move to Los Angeles and professionally pursue stand-up. For some time, he had difficulty as an entertainer in Hollywood as talent agents would not give him a chance, viewing him as a reality TV star. It took years to shake this image and establish himself as a comedian.
In 2006, Von achieved one of his first major comedic accomplishments when he won the title of "Last Comic Downloaded" on "Last Comic Standing." Around this time, Von also began touring his set nationally and internationally, including tours for the USO. In 2016, he released a comedy special on Netflix called "No Offense," and in 2017, Von released an album titled "30lb Bag of Hamster Bones".
On June 1, 2012, Von was the featured comedian in an episode of Comedy Central's "The Half Hour," now known as "Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents." He also promoted his comedy on "The Arsenio Hall Show," "Hello Ross," "Chelsea Lately," "Watch What Happens Live," "@midnight," and "This Is Not Happening," among other television shows. He hosted the TBS hidden camera show "Deal With It" for three seasons, appeared in the film "InAPPropriate Comedy" in 2013, and in 2018, he released a three-episode scripted comedy show called "Man Up" on Comedy Central. In 2021, he appeared in the Netflix special "Regular People." Von is scheduled to appear in the film "Sweet Dreams" in 2024.
