Please Don't Destroy is a comedy group based in New York City, comprised of Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy. The trio began their collaborative efforts as students at New York University. Founded in 2017, the group was initially formed around an act titled "Please Don't Destroy My Farm." They regularly performed monthly comedy shows and made appearances at the New York Comedy Festival. The group also produced sketch videos for YouTube. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, they adapted to the situation by creating shorter videos for TikTok and Twitter.
In 2021, the members of Please Don't Destroy were hired as writers for the 47th season of "Saturday Night Live" ("SNL") debuting on the show on October 9, 2021. They were responsible for producing a series of pre-recorded sketches during the show's 47th and 48th seasons, which included various interactions with hosts such as Austin Butler, Woody Harrelson, Travis Kelce, Jenna Ortega, Ana de Armas, Ramy Youssef, and Travis Scott. They also recorded the song "Three Sad Virgins" with Pete Davidson and Taylor Swift.
In addition to their work on "SNL," they wrote and starred in "Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain," a comedy streaming on Amazon Prime.
