Patti Solis Doyle Biography
Patti Solis Doyle is a political advisor, strategist, and commentator with more than three decades of experience in politics, presidential campaigns, and public service. The daughter of Mexican immigrants, Solis Doyle began her career working on Richard M. Daley's campaign for Mayor of Chicago before joining then-Governor Bill Clinton's presidential campaign, where she became Hillary Clinton's assistant. She coined the term "Hillaryland" to describe the close circle of Clinton advisers and served as a senior advisor to the first lady throughout two terms in the White House.
Solis Doyle became the first Hispanic woman to lead a presidential campaign in the United States when she was appointed campaign manager for Hillary Clinton's presidential bid. She previously served as chief of staff to Clinton's first U.S. Senate campaign and managed her Senate re-election campaign. After leaving the Clinton campaign, Solis Doyle joined the Obama campaign as chief of staff for vice presidential operations, overseeing a national team of policy, communications, and political advisors and managing day-to-day operations for vice presidential nominee Joe Biden. She later served as a senior advisor to the Obama-Biden campaign, focusing on women and Hispanic voters.
In addition to her campaign work, Solis Doyle has developed a career in strategic communications and media. She is a CNN political commentator, providing analysis on presidential campaigns, the political landscape, and the role of women and minorities in American politics. At Brunswick Group, she is a partner and head of the U.S. Public Affairs practice, advising clients on public affairs, politics, regulatory issues, and communications. Solis Doyle is also president of Solis Strategies, a communications firm serving nonprofits, NGOs, and corporations, and has served as a Winter Fellow at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics.
Solis Doyle's work has been recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine, which named her one of America's 100 Most Influential Hispanics. Hispanic Magazine honored her with the Latinas of Excellence Award for her accomplishments in government, politics, and civil leadership, and Siempre Mujer magazine presented her with the Siempre Inspiran award for her contributions to the future of Hispanic women.
