Mark Gorkin, MSW, LICSW, widely known as The Stress Doc, is a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and keynote speaker specializing in stress management, burnout prevention, and organizational change. Gorkin is recognized for delivering interactive programs focused on workplace wellness, team communication, and resilience for government agencies and major corporations.
Gorkin's career as The Stress Doc began after experiencing burnout while working on his doctoral thesis, which led him to write about stress for radio and television outlets. This personal journey informed his approach to mental health and stress resilience, shaping his work as a consultant and speaker.
Gorkin has served as a stress and violence prevention consultant for the US Postal Service and has led pre-deployment stress resilience, humor, and team-building retreats for the US Army. Gorkin also serves as a stress resilience, grief, and trauma consultant for the International Employee Assistance Program CCA in New York City. Gorkin authored the illustrated children's book "Where Is Charlotte?," which received the 5-Gold Star Highly Recommended Literary Titan Book Award. He has also created psychologically humorous rap music through Shrink Rap Productions, contributing to innovative mental health education.
