Kalen Thornton Biography
Kalen Thornton is the current Chief Marketing Officer at PepsiCo and a former linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys. At Gatorade, Thornton works to lead brand strategy, integrated marketing, portfolio management, creative storytelling and the expansion of consumer engagement across digital channels.
Following his professional football career, Thornton spent time in private wealth management for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. After attending graduate school for business, Thornton started his position with Nike. Thornton worked his was up from MBA Intern all the way to North America Vice President of Men’s Brand Management.
Thornton is a proud Longhorn, as alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin and received his master’s in business from Stanford University before starting at Nike.
His father Bruce Thornton also played football in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys, while his brother Kyle played for Texas and then for University of North Alabama. His youngest brother Kenton, also starred for St. Mark's before doing a post-graduate year at Blair Academy, where he was prep offensive player of the year in New Jersey before playing the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and also transferring to University of North Alabama.
