Jonathan Nolan is a British-American screenwriter, producer, and director recognized for his contributions to modern genre storytelling in film and television. Nolan's career began with the short story "Memento Mori," which his brother, director Christopher Nolan, adapted into the film "Memento." The film earned Jonathan Nolan a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and, with his brother, the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the Sundance Film Festival. This early achievement established Nolan as a writer known for non-linear, intellectually ambitious narratives.
Nolan co-wrote several genre films with Christopher Nolan, including the mystery thriller "The Prestige," the superhero films "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises," and the science fiction film "Interstellar."
